Lionbear Kennels is located in rural Manitoba, Canada and is owned and operated by Tanya and Darius Hall.
We have both always loved animals.
Tanya, having been raised in the country surrounded by fields, forests and wildlife, grew to love nature and animals. There was never a moment in either's life when a dog, cat or fish or two weren't a part of the household.
Breeding dogs is natural and meaningful to us but it wasn't something that was planned, nor did we ever imagine that it would be something that we would do. It just happened out of a need to nurture which invaded my emotions at 29 years of age. My desire to have children turned into a reality of two dogs, then three, then four…!
Why the Chow Chow?
We had a stray chow/border collie cross that made our home his one day. He was the most annoying but loveable dog we had ever known. He was too smart, too fast, too stubborn, but so beautiful, so loving, affectionate and loyal to us. He chose us and from that moment on began my interest in the Chow Chow!
